There's a cost to each activity, and it is a bayou, so don't forget your bug spray. Location: 8500 Bay Area Blvd., Pasadena, Texas. El Jardin Beach When you go to the very east edge of Pasadena, you'll find a wonderful beach on the waters of Trinity Bay called El Jardin Beach. There's good fishing, picnic tables in case you want to bring food, and plenty of sand to make sandcastles. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on leashes. One of the best things about El Jardin Beach is that the Pasadena Parks & Recreation Department has made it free for the residents of Pasadena, whereas non-locals have to pay $10 for adults and $5 for children. Burke/Crenshaw Park Another great park maintained by the Pasadena Parks & Recreation Department is Burke/Crenshaw Park. If that's not your thing, there are plenty of other activities in this 100-acre park that you could try, including fishing in a lake stocked with rainbow trout in the spring and fall and catfish in the summer, exercise stations, hiking trails, and covered tables, where you can just relax in the shade with a picnic lunch. The Battle Ground Golf Course Golf isn't the easiest sport in the world, but you and your family will want to give it a try at The Battle Ground Golf Course. Explore the Hangars The Lone Star Flight Museum has two hangars where you can view full-size aircraft in all their glory. The Waltrip Hangar on the facility's north side spans 30,000 square feet. This area often hosts private events, as it can accommodate up to 1,000 seated guests or 1,250 standing guests. While the hanger features several aircraft, the staff can arrange the planes into different layouts for various events. Like the Waltrip Hanger, the Heritage Hangar offers 30,000 square feet of space and features additional aircraft. It's closer to the Flight Academy and Heritage Gallery exhibits. The museum's collection is made up of dozens of aircraft, including a Cessna L-19/O-1A Bird Dog, Douglas DC-3, Piper L-4H Grasshopper, and Boeing PT-17 Stearman. Try the MaxFlight Simulator Experience The MaxFlight Simulator Experience has a 360-degree range of motion that lets you experience a world of new adventures, including flying a jet, soaring in vintage aircraft, and using a warbird. The simulator requires double occupancy. There's a maximum height of 77 inches and a weight limit of 250 pounds per person. You must be at least 42 inches tall to ride with an adult and at least 48 inches tall to ride alone. Flight simulator rides are on a first-come-first-served basis.
