2024 Chevy Trailblazer vs. Blazer: What's the Difference?

Despite having similar names, the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer and Trailblazer crossovers have significant differences. Each vehicle offers unique benefits that may fit with your lifestyle. While the Blazer offers more room and power under the hood, the Trailblazer is a great choice for busy city driving. Our team of Chevrolet experts here at Monument Chevrolet in Pasadena took a closer look at both SUVs to help you decide which one is right for you. Feel free to contact us to arrange a test drive or ask any questions. more Shop Midsize SUVs Engine and Performance Image courtesy of Chevrolet The 2024 Trailblazer offers a 1.2-liter or 1.3-liter turbocharged engine. The smaller of the two puts out 137 horsepower and is available with front-wheel drive (FWD) only. If you opt for the larger engine, you get a little more acceleration under the hood with an output of 155 horsepower and the choice of FWD or all-wheel drive (AWD). The 1.3-liter engine achieves 33 mpg on the highway and 29 mpg on city roads, or 29 mpg and 26 mpg respectively if you opt for AWD. The engines on offer in the Blazer are substantially larger. The base unit is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine capable of generating 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. For more power, you can choose the 3.6-liter V-6 upgrade that can churn out 308 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. When it comes to fuel economy, the turbocharged engine manages 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg at highway speeds, while the V-6 gets 19 mpg and 26 mpg, respectively. Both engines are available with AWD. With the V-6 engine, the Blazer has a towing capacity of 4,500 pounds. The powertrain numbers show that the Trailblazer is a great choice if you prioritize fuel economy and do most of your driving in the city. You still get the advantage of an SUV body style while saving money at the pump. On the other hand, if you regularly spend time on the highway or want to tow a trailer at the rear, you'll probably prefer the Blazer's powertrain. Which Is Bigger? The Trailblazer is smaller than the Blazer. Although both crossovers can seat five people, the Trailblazer's cargo area is not as large. Behind the second row of seats, you'll find about 25 cubic feet of space, giving you enough room for a decent-sized load of groceries or your family's day-to-day baggage. The Trailblazer allows you to fold down the second row and the front passenger's seat to create more space for longer pieces of cargo. With the second row flat, you get about 54 cubic feet of cargo room. Behind the second row of the Blazer, you get over 30 cubic feet of storage space. When you fold down the second row, you can make use of around 64 cubic feet of space. You can always load up a trailer with bulkier items if you don't find enough space in the Blazer's cabin thanks to its solid towing capacity. Infotainment and Safety Tech The infotainment systems in these crossovers are comparable, although there are a few features that are standard in the Blazer and optional in the Trailblazer. The Blazer has a 10.2-inch infotainment screen and a six-speaker stereo, which the Trailblazer surpasses with an 11-inch display. Both vehicles come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for smartphone compatibility. A Wi-Fi hotspot comes standard in the Blazer, but you'll need to move up the trim ladder to get it in the Trailblazer. The Blazer also offers an optional navigation system and eight-speaker stereo. Both vehicles offer similar safety features. Regardless of your choice, you'll get forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and automatic emergency braking to help you avoid accidents. On the highway, you can benefit from lane departure warning and lane-keep assist. Adaptive cruise control, which can adjust your speed to ensure you keep a safe distance between your vehicle and other motorists, is offered as an option on most trims. There's also a rear-seat alert that reminds you to check behind you before getting out of your Blazer or Trailblazer so that you don't leave kids or pets behind. Another helpful safety feature is Chevy's Teen Driver, which allows you to control how secondary drivers use your crossover. You can set speed limits and other restrictions to encourage safe driving habits. Trims and Pricing The Trailblazer has a starting MSRP of just $23,100, making it a very affordable crossover. Even the range-topping RS trim starts at less than $30k. The Blazer has a significantly higher starting price of $35,400. The top Premier trim comes in at $44,195. Your choice here will come down to whether you're focused on sticking to a modest budget or don't mind paying extra for the additional capabilities provided by the Blazer. The four trims offered in the Blazer are the 2LT, 3LT, RS, and Premier. The 3LT adds leather upholstery, a power-adjustable passenger seat, and a power liftgate. The RS trim gets you the more powerful V-6 engine, 20-inch wheels, and the navigation system. With the Premier, you get all the available infotainment features. The Trailblazer also has four trims: the LS, LT, Activ, and RS. The lower two trims come standard with the smaller engine, while the top two get the 1.3-liter unit. If you opt for the Activ trim, you get a power-adjustable driver's seat, a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, and heated front seats. Find Your New Chevrolet Crossover at Monument Chevrolet in Pasadena You should be in a better position now to determine which of these two Chevrolet crossovers is right for you. Larger families or drivers who need a vehicle with more performance capabilities are probably going to opt for the Blazer. Those of you who want an excellent vehicle for the daily commute with an impressive range of infotainment technology will be happy with the Trailblazer. What is a One-Pay Lease?

When purchasing a vehicle, you have several options. You can pay the entire vehicle cost and fees in cash. You can also contact your local bank or credit union to see if you qualify for an auto loan. Many dealerships, such as Monument Chevrolet, offer in-house financing through local and national lenders to give you more options. Consider leasing the vehicle, especially if you prefer to upgrade sooner rather than later. A one-pay lease is one way to lease a vehicle. Explore this purchasing option before deciding. more New Chevy Vehicles What Is a One-Pay Lease? A one-pay lease option means you make a single lump-sum payment at the start of your lease without any additional payments during the lease period. You make one large payment upfront instead of dozens of monthly payments. One-pay leasing has a higher initial cost but offers more overall savings. Leasing companies use various factors to set the lease payment amount. You can often negotiate your monthly payments to work with your budget, but a one-pay lease offers you more significant savings than traditional leasing or financing. One-Pay Lease Example If you select a 24-month lease with payments of $400 a month, you'll pay a total of $9,600 for your lease period. If the dealership offers a one-pay lease option that drops the monthly payment by $40, or 10%, you would then make a single payment of $8,640 upfront. That's a savings of almost $1,000 on the same lease period for the vehicle. Dealership discount offers on one-pay lease agreements will vary, but saving money is always good. What Is the Vehicle Leasing Process? Leasing a vehicle is like a long-term rental. You make monthly payments for a specified period and mileage to enjoy driving one of the latest models. When you return your leased vehicle to the dealership, additional fees may be associated with excessive wear and tear or high miles. If you end your lease early, you may also be subject to early termination fees. Leases are typically two to four years. When your lease expires, you can upgrade to a newer model or purchase the vehicle outright by paying the residual value. How Are Lease Payments Calculated? Leasing companies use various factors to determine your lease payments. These include: Gross capitalized cost: The gross capitalized cost is the vehicle's total value, including purchase price, insurance, and service contracts. The total value is negotiable. Capitalized cost reduction: These include rebates or trade-in allowances that reduce the gross capitalized cost of the vehicle. Adjusted capitalized cost: This value is the gross capitalized cost minus the capitalized cost reduction. For example, if the vehicle sticker price is $30,000 and you have a trade-in allowance of $8,000, the adjusted capitalized cost is $22,000. Residual value: The residual value, calculated at the start of your contract, is an estimated value for the vehicle at the end of the lease term. The actual value at the end of your lease term depends on mileage and condition. Depreciation: Every car depreciates or loses value with age and use. The leasing agent will subtract the residual value from the adjusted capitalized value to determine the vehicle's depreciation. Rent charge: Like interest rates, rent charges are typically determined by a money factor based on your credit history and score. It also considers the leasing agent's commission markup. Lease payments: The total cost of your lease is divided into monthly payments for your lease period, usually 24 to 48 months. If you select a 24-month lease, you make 24 payments. With a one-pay lease, you only make one payment for the total amount owed throughout the lease, minus a discount from the leasing agent. Advantages of a One-Pay Lease There are several advantages to opting for a one-pay lease, including: No monthly payments: You have no monthly payments when you pay the entire leasing fee upfront. Interest savings: Paying the entire lease in one lump sum eliminates interest charges, saving you more money. Easier qualification: It may be easier for you to qualify for a one-pay lease than any other type of financing or leasing because you agree to pay the total amount, minus any discounts, upfront. This can be especially helpful to drivers with poor credit history. Disadvantages of a One-Pay Lease There's only one real disadvantage to a one-pay lease agreement: the large upfront payment. Many drivers don't have the thousands of dollars necessary to make a one-time payment at the start of a lease contract. A traditional lease or financing allows you to make smaller monthly payments. Is a One-Pay Lease Right for You? When upgrading your vehicle, stop by Monument Chevrolet to discuss your financing options with our financial experts. We can help you decide if regular financing, standard leasing, or one-pay leasing is right for you. Let's explore the differences in financing: Traditional financing: When you finance a vehicle, the payments go toward ownership so that you own the vehicle outright at the end of the loan terms. Financing a vehicle can require a significant down payment, including tax, title, and license. If you plan to finance a vehicle, you may need cash or a trade-in to apply to the down payment and fees. Traditional leasing: Drivers who don't have money for a down payment or those who enjoy upgrading their vehicle more frequently may prefer to lease a vehicle. Lease payments are typically lower than loan payments, but you won't own the vehicle at the end of your lease period. One-pay lease: A one-pay lease option is excellent for drivers with poor or no credit history who may not qualify for traditional financing or leasing. You do need to have enough cash to make the large upfront payment. Lane departure warning and lane-keep assist are two features ideal for highway driving. For instance, adaptive cruise control adjusts your speed on the highway so you keep a safe distance from other vehicles. 2024 Chevrolet Silverado: Interior Features & Design

Widely regarded as one of the most popular and iconic pickup trucks on the market, the Chevy Silverado has undergone a stunning interior transformation for the latest model year. With a focus on comfort, convenience, and modern technology, Chevrolet has truly outdone itself with the new-look interior of the 2024 Silverado. From advanced infotainment systems to luxurious materials and innovative storage solutions, this truck raises the bar for what a modern pickup should offer. Our Monument Chevrolet team in Pasadena wants to share the impressive interior features Chevrolet has revealed about the 2024 Silverado that'll make the upcoming model the epitome of rugged sophistication while keeping you comfy and connected. more What New Features Are Found in the 2024 Silverado's Interior? One of the biggest complaints about previous Silverado iterations was the lack of high-end tech and a slightly outdated aesthetic. Chevrolet has done more than simply address those issues, implementing an entirely redesigned interior for the 2024 model year that'll surely become a force to be reckoned with in the world of heavy-duty trucks. Here are some of our favorite upgrades on the all-new Silverado: 13.4-Inch Central Touch Screen Silverado drivers will step into the future with the 13.4-inch touch screen armed with built-in Google voice recognition found in nearly every trim level. Paired with the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and available heads-up display, the 2024 Silverado promises to deliver the next-gen feel that you're looking for in your dream pickup truck. The display is intuitive and responsive, bringing users a smooth and satisfying experience. The interior controls are provided via the digital touch screen and easy-to-use physical buttons and switches. Premium Materials Even a truck that can handle the toughest jobs can create a refined, luxurious atmosphere inside the cabin. Chevrolet has spared no expense regarding the Silverado's interior vibe. High-end trims have authentic leather-wrapped surfaces and sharp wood accents to produce a premium look. The 2024 Silverado's interior quality has been elevated to new heights thanks to meticulous attention to detail. Redesigned Center Console Chevrolet has implemented a sleek center console to help accommodate the Silverado's wireless charging pad. The less cluttered design allows the new Chevy truck to offer up to 10 cupholders. The charging pad is located underneath the center armrest area minimizing distractions while driving. Adaptive Cruise Control With Trailering A reworked adaptive cruise control function is one of the most significant upgrades to the 2024 Silverado. The new system is optimized for driving with a trailer hooked up, accounting for the added weight and aerodynamic drag when maintaining speed or slowing for upcoming traffic. Drivers will also receive a warning when the vehicle's combined gross weight rating has been exceeded. Additionally, GM's cutting-edge Transparent Trailer technology has leveled up its versatility, gaining compatibility with both gooseneck and fifth-wheel trailers. Transparent Trailer relies on a collection of cameras that work together to create a rearview as if your trailer were invisible. The Silverado's blind-spot monitoring has also been fine tuned to function effectively at further distances when hauling a trailer. What Other Interior Features Does the 2024 Silverado Offer? In addition to its new upgrades, the 2024 Silverado brings back several popular amenities that have made it one of the top-selling pickups in the country since the model was first released in 1999. Innovative Driver-Assist and Safety Features The 2024 Silverado is well equipped with safety features to keep you and your passengers out of harm's way. You'll feel safe and secure in every situation with the truck's laundry list of standard safety tech, including forward-collision warning, automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. You'll also have access to a following distance indicator, rear park assist, an HD surround vision camera, and an auxiliary trailer camera. The range-topping High Country can use GM's hands-free driving technology, Super Cruise, which works even when pulling a trailer. While the National Highway and Traffic Safety Association has yet to crash-test each trim level, the 2024 Silverado Crew Cab recently received a five-star safety rating in both the four-wheel and rear-wheel drive variants. Considering the Silverado's sizable list of standard safety features, it promises to be one of the safest pickups on the market for the 2024 model year. Convenient Interior Technology One of the most appealing aspects of the 2024 Silverado is its versatility, as it brings the ruggedness needed to tackle challenging jobs while being loaded with luxurious tech features to make your driving experience more comfortable. In this article, we'll take a closer look at the lineup of Chevrolet SUVs. more New Chevy Vehicles What Are the Different SUV Sizes? An SUV combines the features of a passenger car with the utility of a light truck. It's more akin to a truck in its earlier forms, with an extended cabin, four-wheel drive, and the ability to handle various terrain. Nowadays, SUVs have more variety, with some having two-wheel or all-wheel drive, minimal off-road capabilities, and different sizes. Despite this diversity, SUVs share certain characteristics, such as a high ground clearance and a hatchback-like exterior. In terms of size, SUVs may be: Full-size: These are the largest SUVs, with dimensions close to those of a typical truck. Full-size SUVs often have the highest towing and payload capacities, but they may also have lower fuel economy and less maneuverability. Midsize: These are slightly smaller and less powerful than full-size models. Midsize SUVs may be more fuel efficient and have better handling because of their lower weight and smaller size, but they offer less space than their full-size counterparts. Small: Small SUVs offer even less space and power, and you may find it difficult to go off-road with them. These are popular because while they're small and relatively affordable, they still handle like an SUV. Compact: These are the smallest SUVs. They possess the lowest towing capacity and smallest cargo volume and lack off-road capabilities. Many compact SUVs are based on a car platform, and while this limits their performance, it makes them more fuel-efficient and easier to handle. Chevrolet has models that fit each of these categories. Chevrolet Equinox Interior Overview + Updates for 2024

Chevrolet is cementing its commitment to greener car technology with an ever-expanding range of electric vehicles (EVs) entering the market. The latest installment in the range is the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox, which features full EV capabilities. Many consider it to be one of the most cost-effective fully electric SUVs. Here's what to expect from this upcoming model. more A Wide Selection of Trims Drivers will have five trims to choose from: the 1LT, 2LT, 2RS, 3LT, and 3RS. While the 2RS will be available in fall 2023, the other trims should appear in spring 2024. According to a Chevrolet press release, the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox will have a starting MSRP of around $30,000 on the 1LT, but it makes no mention of the MSRPs for the other trims. In terms of interior looks, we know so far that there is a black with blue accents trim, a Sky Cool Gray interior, black with red accents trim, and an Adrenaline Red interior. It seems like Chevrolet is keeping quiet on the type of interior and whether you'll have cloth, vinyl, or leather options. Here is some additional information about the 2024 Equinox trims: 1LT The base model in the range is the 1LT. It has an 11-inch diagonal driver information center and 11-inch infotainment display screen, plus the standard Chevy Safety Assist. It includes manually adjusting front seats. 2LT The 2LT is the comfort version for those who find themselves in colder climates. It features heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. The eight-way power-adjustable driver seat makes it extra comfortable while you drive, and the upgraded 17.7-inch infotainment screen is sure to keep you entertained along the way. 2RS If you're in the market for a sportier car, the 2RS may have what you're looking for, as it comes with the red interior color options. For the colder months, the flat-bottom steering wheel is heated, and so are the front seats. It features the same 17.7-inch diagonal infotainment system as the 2LT. 3LT With the 3LT, you have access to extra features, such as adaptive cruise control and HD Surround Vision. This interior is loaded with extras such as the eight-way power adjustable seat for the driver and the six-way adjustable seat for the front passenger. The front seats are also heated and ventilated, and so are the rear outboard seats. You'll also get dual zone climate control. This trim has the Sky Cool Gray interior trim. With this trim, you also have a few optional extra features, such as the head-up display and rear camera mirror, Bose audio system, and sunroof. 3RS The 3RS isn't only aesthetically pleasing with its dark aero wheels and black painted grille but also gives you the option of going with a red and black or Adrenaline Red interior. It includes many of the same standard and optional features listed for the 3LT. Equinox Updates for 2024 A major change between the 2023 Equinox and 2024 Equinox is that the 2024 range features the very first EVs for Equinox. While it's tough to compare mpg to EV range, it's worth knowing that GM estimates that the 2024 Equinox will have a 300-mile electric range on a full charge. The 2024 Equinox also offers some changes that stretch beyond its EV capability. For starters, it offers an extra trim compared to the 2023 range, which only came in four trims: the LS, LT, RS, and Premier. The 2024 range is also priced with a higher starting MSRP than in 2023, which started at $26,600. 2024 offers bigger and better in terms of infotainment, with either an 11-inch or 17.7-inch display. In 2023, you had the choice between either the 7-inch diagonal color touch screen or an 8-inch option on the higher-end trims. Additionally, the driver infotainment systems for 2023 were 3.5 or 4.2 inches diagonally, and the new 2024 Equinox bumps this up to 11 inches. While we only have a glimpse of the seat trim options for the 2024 range, it's already a step-up in terms of colors. The 2023 range only offers three colors: Jet Black, Maple Sugar, and Medium Ash Gray, compared to the four options offered in 2024. High-End Safety Chevy Safety Assist provides Equinox drivers with access to some of the best safety features currently on the market. With the use of sensors, the automatic emergency braking can kick in if it detects a possible collision, which usually happens after the forward collision alert. Front pedestrian braking works similarly, and the system will alert you if it detects a pedestrian immediately in front of the car and you haven't started braking yet. The lane-keep assist with lane departure warning lets you know when you're drifting, which might be an indication that it's time to stop and take a rest. You also have access to the IntelliBeam system, which ensures that your path ahead is illuminated as efficiently as possible, and a following distance indicator that tells you when you need to create distance between you and the car in front of you to avoid a potential collision. Some additional standard safety features include safety alert seat, blind zone steering assist, and reverse automatic braking. Groundbreaking Tech Super Cruise is available in select vehicles and allows the driver 100% hands-free driving pleasure. Over 400,000 miles of roads across the U.S. and Canada are compatible with the technology, but it requires access to an active Super Cruise Connected Service plan for effective mapping. The technology works in conjunction with adaptive cruise control and forward collision alert, but it will not work with the teen driver technology activated. The Equinox uses a hands-free start system, which allows you to start the car without taking the key fob out of your pocket. The technology senses when the key fob is in range, so you can simply put the car in drive mode and drive off. You also don't have to worry about carrying your device charger around or cables getting in the way, as the Equinox features a wireless charging station. Additionally, the Ultifi software platform uses over-the-air updates to keep your onboard software and downloadable apps updated.
